Atlanta Time

Time has gotten away from me over the last few weeks. I have taken lots of pictures but I just now loaded them all on the computer. There were 67 to be exact. So much has happened since the last post.

Last weekend we took a trip to Atlanta. My brother is getting married in July and we had a wedding shower for him and Fonda (my new sister-in-law to be.) There was also a Cubs vs. Braves game that Josh was very excited about. It was the first time we were rooting for two different teams. I was a Braves fan growing up (when they were really bad and the stands were empty) and I will continue to be forever I guess. Josh just recently decided that he loves the Cubs because he says they're the last remnant of baseball's golden age (whatever that means). He now has a hat, t-shirt, jersey, and is going to three games this summer. For him the first game was great. He got to see three home runs and the Cubs ended up winning 8-1. Josh's dad came with us to the game as well as John Ott, a very close friend of Josh's.

Nana and Papa were excited to keep Lilly for us two nights in a row: One for the ball game and the other for us to go out with Jason and Fonda. Jason took us to a Brazillian steakhouse in Downtown Atlanta where we were served 12 different kinds of meat. As long as we had the green sign up they just kept bringing more meat. We were totally stuffed after we had finally finished. The guys were definitely more excited about this restaurant than the girls were.

As the weekend came to an end we were worn out. We pulled an all-nighter on the drive down to Atlanta on Thursday. Then on Friday, we caught up with our friends, the Otts, and went downtown for the Braves game. On Saturday we had the wedding shower at my parents' house and then returned to downtown to all that meat. Sunday we went to church and then drove back to Memphis thinking Lilly was as worn out as we were and was probably ready for a nap. WRONG! She slept for only an hour and a half, screamed for about two hours, and loved being entertained by mom the rest of the way. We decided that night driving is the way to go - at least if we want to have a quiet car free from baby cries and my singing silly songs over and over and over.

Here are a few pictures:

Lilly looks so stinkin' cute in that last family picture! I love her yellow dress and cute shoes! It was fun doing lunch. Let's do it again soon.
