Party Pictures
I had to post a few pictures of the party before September rolled around. My mom and dad came down on Friday, before the party. Mom immediately started making the cake as soon as they came in the door. Lilly even got her own little cake.
Everyone showed up Saturday around 11. Lilly was ready for her big event! We started the party with a prayer over Lilly, thanking God for her first year of life and praying for him to bless her during this next year. Then we ate lunch (watermelon, Lilly's favorite, was included in the menu.) Lilly loved the cake! First she ate off most of the icing. Then she kept digging out the middle of the cake. It was YUMMY!
Time for presents. Lilly sat in my lap and was excited about all the new things she was getting: dolls, clothes, toys, dress-up clothes....... The strawberry shortcake toy box was from my parents. They had given it to me at my first birthday party, 28 years ago. My dad cleaned it up and put a new coat of paint around Strawberry Shortcake (it was Disney pink.) Lilly loves putting the toys in the box, taking them out, and then starting all over again. As you can see in the pictures below, after opening all those new toys, Lilly wanted to play with an empty box. I guess that is just the way it goes.
