Playing all day

As the weekend approaches, I am continuously checking off my list of things to get ready for the big birthday party. I can't believe it is really here. Lilly will officially turn one on August 16, but the family is coming in town this weekend to celebrate this wonderful occasion.

Since Lilly is the only grandchild on both sides and so precious and sweet, she gets royally spoiled by her grandparents. She has already started getting presents in the mail. One of her favorites is the swing set from Nana and Papa. She has actually started crying when we let Rudy out back and don't take her along.

This past year has been such a blessing. I am thankful for this first year we have had together bonding as mother and daughter. Lilly has depended on me for many things during this first year of her life. Now she is independently crawling on her own, picking up her own food to eat, and letting us know loud and clear when she does not like something. I am thankful for the way Lilly has grown, developed and changed. My love continues to grow more and more each day for my little girl.

What a cute swing set! I know that she loves it. I hope that everything goes great this weekend.

What a toy! Nora will have to come play with Lilly since her most exciting toy right now is a vaccuum cleaner! Have fun planning the party. My least favorite part of parenting thus far. :(
