Toddler Bed

It is hard to believe that it is only three days away from Lilly's birthday. It just doesn't seem like she should be turning two already. We find ourselves every day saying I can't believe she just....ate that whole thing of yogurt with a spoon, sang the ABC song, is counting, got that thing open that we thought she couldn't...all be herself. It is truly amazing how much she has grown and changed within the last month. The biggest change has been the move from the crib to the toddler bed. She has been sleeping in her new bed for almost a week and has done better than we thought she would. The first few nights were a little difficult. Josh put her down, she would get up, back down, back up, over and over and over. Then she would wake up a few times in the wee hours and pop into our room. Josh, who is not quite as soft on her as I, would take her back to bed. We just really did not want her to start sleeping with us. So by about the third night she did not wake up one time and was doing better at the initial going to bed time. Then last night hit and she was back up five times in the middle of the night. We have learned to just expect the unexpected. You never know what will happen and it is best to not predict anything. Overall, Lilly loves having more freedom - who doesn't? She has really done well with this new transition, it is Josh and I who were not quite ready to say goodbye to the crib. I guess that is just another thing we have to prepare ourselves for is just when we get used to one stage, here comes another one.
