Snow Day
Yesterday seemed like a normal morning. We were awakened by Lilly creeping into our bedroom. We snuggled in the bed, went potty, changed out of the pull-up (which has been dry for weeks. Lilly wakes up in the middle of the night to go potty and is always dry in the morning. I just don't know when to start letting her sleep in panties. But that is the subject for another post.) Anyways, she picked out her big girl panties for the day, put on her robe and house shoes and we headed downstairs for breakfast. As we were opening the windows to our surprise we saw snowflakes everywhere! This was so exciting! We found out that schools were not closed and Josh was still going to work, but we were still going to have fun and play in the snow. So after we ate breakfast watching the snow fill the backyard we raced upstairs to put some "snow clothes" on. Lilly wore a full ski bib over her outfit, her biggest coat, hat, and gloves. I got all ready with the video camera in hand. We were ready to play.
Rudy was so funny. He kept racing around the yard and even slid off the back deck he got going so fast. Him and Lilly both kept eating the snow. We made snowballs and threw them at Rudy, of course. Then Lilly kept throwing the snow all over him and just laughing about it.
I just love the snow. I figure if it is going to be this cold, we might as well get some snow to go along with it. We didn't have enough to make a snowman or create snow angels, but we have a long time before winter is over. There is nothing better than waking up to a white morning, playing in the snow, then coming in and making a good cup of hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows! Hopefully more snow is on it's way!
