What a Weekend......

This past weekend Josh and I had the chance to spend the entire time just hanging out the two of us. My parents came in town on Friday to keep Lilly for two nights. This was the first time we had both been away from Lilly for this long.

We decided not to travel too far, but to see how much fun we could have downtown. We stayed in a condo, on the 15th floor, that overlooked the river and had a great view. It was so nice to have no responsibility for a few days. We just relaxed, ate some really good food, and enjoyed being able to finish all of our conversations without being interrupted by Lilly's sweet voice. We decided to try out some fun spots on Beale St. for dinner. We loved Dyers hamburgers and thought Miss Polly's was incredible - I mean what kind of restaurant can serve waffles and fried chicken together! For lunch on Saturday we wandered back into Midtown and enjoyed one of our favorite spots - PeiWei. Of course we had to stop by the Peabody and watch the march of the famous ducks and we toured the National Civil Rights Museum, which was very interesting.

On Sunday we even got to go to church together and sit beside each other the whole time at Fellowship Memphis. We heard an awesome message and then made our way back to Collierville in time to meet Lilly at Grace Crossing. We loved every minute of our wonderful weekend together. Thanks Nana and Papa for taking such good care of Lilly for two whole nights - She had a blast! Here are some of our favorite pictures....

Josh and I will celebrate our eight year anniversary this July and one thing we have learned is that we have to be intentional about our time together, especially now that we have become parents. Our family times together are priceless, but it is just as important to have our couple time as well. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband and soak up every opportunity I have to be one on one with him. I can't wait for our next weekend getaway together.....
